to someone with pretty eyes

they held my heart in their hands 

and crushed it 

right in front of me 

I sold my soul 

to the person with the amazing smile 

i was left in awe 

until i saw that the smile 

was never for me

I sold my soul 

to a beautiful laugh

in the hopes that it would never stop 

but laughter always fades 

and when it left I was empty 

I sold my soul

to someone I thought was perfect 

then I looked closer 

saw the imperfections 

and I fell further in love

the subtle touch 

hand on hand 

and nothing else

blink and you'll miss us 

the look in your eyes 

the bright, the sad, the tired

the eyes are the windows to the soul

how it changes the mood 
of an entire room

I don't know what love tastes like

It'd be your food 
the breakfasts in bed
and the late night dinners 
even the burnt is nice when it's yours 


I don't know what love sounds like

It'd be your voice 
your singing, your yelling,
your laughing, your talking 
and when you calm someone 
down with your words 


I don't know much about love
and I don't know if you love me 
but I know of my feelings,
my dreams, my soul
and I know that to me love is you.
